Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: July 2026
The short version
Bathwater & Beyond earns money through affiliate links. If you click a link on this site and buy something, we may receive a small commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra, and it never determines what we recommend or how we rate it.
That's the whole arrangement. The rest of this page explains how it works and where the lines are.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a tracked URL. When you click one and go on to buy something, the retailer can tell the sale came from us, and pays us a percentage of it.
The price you pay is identical to what you would pay going to the retailer directly. There is no surcharge, no markup, and no difference to your order. If you would rather not use our links, searching for the product by name and buying it directly works exactly the same way for you.
How we label them
Affiliate links on this site carry a sponsored attribute in the underlying code, which is what search engines use to identify paid links. In the visible text, you will see either an (affiliate link) note beside the link or a disclosure line at the end of the section containing it.
If you ever find a link on this site that earns us a commission and isn't disclosed, that's a mistake on our part. Tell us and we'll fix it.
How we decide what to recommend
This is the part that actually matters, so we'll be specific.
- We do not accept payment for placement. No brand can buy a spot on a list, a higher ranking, or a more favourable write-up. If that ever changes, it will be labelled as advertising, clearly and on the page itself.
- Commission rates do not influence rankings. We do not order recommendations by what pays best. Where a product we rate highly has no affiliate program at all, we still recommend it.
- We say when something isn't right for you. Our guides include caveats about who a product doesn't suit. A recommendation that works for everyone usually means nobody looked closely.
- We revisit older guides. Products change, formulations change, and prices change. When a recommendation no longer holds, we update it rather than leaving it earning commission quietly.
What we can't control
Prices and availability shown on this site are what we saw when we last checked, and they go out of date. Always confirm the current price on the retailer's own page before buying.
We also don't handle fulfilment, shipping, returns, or customer service for products sold by other retailers. If something goes wrong with an order placed through one of our links, the retailer is who you need. We're happy to help you find the right contact, but we can't resolve it on your behalf.
Who we work with
We currently participate in affiliate programs including Bathorium. This list changes as we add or drop partners, and we don't disclose commission rates because they're typically covered by the agreements themselves.
About the products on this site
Some product pages on bathwaterandbeyond.com exist as reference write-ups rather than as items we sell. Where that's the case, the page says so and points you to the retailer we recommend buying from. We are a publication, not a shop.
A note on independence
An affiliate site only works if you trust the recommendations. The moment we start recommending things because they pay well rather than because they're good, the recommendations stop being worth reading, and there's no business left.
So the incentive runs the way you'd want it to: we would rather lose a commission than tell you to buy something that won't suit you.
